Ride a safari truck up the mountain, take a horse down to El Limón Waterfall and spend the afternoon on Cayo Levantado.
Exploring the Samaná Peninsula is the Dominican Republic’s variety in a single trip: mountain scenery, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Caribbean and a final stop on a white-sand island.
You leave your hotel in Bavaro or Bayahibe by bus to La Cañita and cross over to Samaná by boat. There, a safari truck takes you up the mountain and you ride down on horseback to El Limón Waterfall for a dip in its cool water. After a traditional lunch by the pier, you sail by catamaran to Cayo Levantado for an hour and a half on the beach.
$85. It includes hotel transfers, your guide, all land and sea transportation (safari truck and boat), the trip to El Limón Waterfall, the island visit and lunch.
Once you reach Samaná by boat, a safari truck takes you up the mountain. From there you ride down to the waterfall on horseback, right through the countryside.
An hour and a half on the beach, plenty of time to swim in the turquoise water and relax on the white sand.
