Watch humpback whales in Samaná Bay and wrap up the day on the beaches of Cayo Levantado.
Every winter, humpback whales come to Samaná Bay, the most important marine sanctuary in the Dominican Republic. From the boat you’ll watch them breach and slap their fins in their natural habitat.
The day starts with pickup at your hotel in Bavaro or Bayahibe and a drive through the towns around Miches to La Cañita, where the boat is waiting. After your time with the whales, you sail to Cayo Levantado for lunch and beach time before heading back to the hotel.
$110 per person. It covers the whole day: hotel transportation, the whale watching boat, a guide who speaks your language, the island visit and lunch.
